Raimondo's Pizza and Pub opens in North Aurora

Raimondo’s Pizza and Pub is now open and serving up hot pizza at 1033 Kilbery Lane in North Aurora. Ray and Michael Treve decided to start rolling dough again after a 10-year absence from the pizza-making scene.

The father and son team operated Raimondo’s Pizza on Route 31 in North Aurora until 2000. People would often ask when he would start making pizzas again, Ray said, and recently his son encouraged him to reopen the popular pizza place.

“We have the best pizza,” said Ray, who was formerly a North Aurora police officer. “The dough is what makes it good.”

It took more than three months to remodel the new location off of Orchard and Randall roads, which was most recently Kilbery Sidewalk Café and started as Camille’s Sidewalk Café. It is a family affair with Ray’s wife, Sally, his daughter, Tara, and Michael’s wife, Donielle, helping out at the restaurant.

A small bar inside seats seven and a casual atmosphere welcomes families to dine-in. Pizza tops the menu along with sandwiches, salads and pasta. Wine and beer are available as well as pizza by the slice. They open daily at 11 a.m.

Double Yolk is filling up your plate with whipped egg omelets and fluffy malted pancakes. The breakfast and lunch spot opened at the beginning of the month at 1555 Butterfield Road in Aurora.

The bright casual restaurant, near JJ’s Prime Time Pub, takes its name seriously. It literally serves up four egg breakfasts. And eventually they plan to open for dinner also, but not yet. Currently, hours are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

General manager Walter Dankowski said he is having fun getting to know the neighbors and being part of the community. He is proud that the new restaurant is able to put 25 individuals to work and “do what it can” for the community.

On Sagamore Parkway.  I had never been there before, but I would definitely go back.  They had  a lot of really good quality options and the prices weren’t bad either.

They have a variety of options between Asian, Italian, Mexican, etc. I decided to try one of their flatbread pizzas.  The service was fast, which is good when your off campus, and you just want to grab some food real quick.  The food was just as good as the service. My best description of the Rustic Italian pizza, I had, would be flavorful and filling.  I loved the interior, it was clean, unique and very comfortable. I could probably sit there all day with its relaxing atmosphere.  If you are looking for a good place to try off campus, I would definitely suggest checking it out.
