Sonoma Cinemas Rev Up for Harry Potter

The boy wizard that captured the hearts of millions around the world is back for a final adventure on the big screen starting July 15.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" is the last of the eight movie adaptations of J.K. Rowling's best-selling series and theaters around the country are bracing for large crowds.

"[Tickets are] selling pretty quickly," said Neil Jimenez, an assistant manager at Sonoma Cinemas .  "I don’t know exactly how many showings we’re going to have at midnight—we kind of open up the theaters as needed."

According to Jimenez, the theater's already sold 350 tickets to the midnight screening; they plan to open all twelve theaters for the screening, depending on sales, for an additional 500 seats.

Tickets are already sold out for Sonoma Cinemas' screening of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I," which will show, just before the midnight release, Thursday, at 9 p.m. for the super fanatical fans looking for a four-and-a-half hour Potter marathon.

Nearby, tickets for all three midnight shows at Petaluma's Boulevard Cinemas had sold out earlier this week, and the theater has just added more shows to meet the demand.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part II depicts Harry's final confrontation with the forces of evil Lord Voldemort — an epic showdown rendered, for the first time in the series, in 3D.

But fear not Potter fans fearing withdrawl after the film's final installment: J.K. Rowling announced the creation of pottermore.com , which she described as "a unique online reading experience for Harry Potter fans."

She said more details would be revealed at the end of July.
