Alexis Jordan Teams Up With 'Make Mine Milk'
Pop sensation Alexis Jordan is the latest celebrity to join the ‘make mine Milk’ campaign.
Alexis will be fronting a new online competition, 2% Fashion, aimed at aspiring fashion designers and fans of the ‘white stuff’. To be in with a chance of winning a £750 shopping spree – all entrants will need to design a t-shirt which communicates the message that most varieties of milk, including semi-skimmed, are less than 2% fat.
The competition can be found at www.facebook.com/makemineMilk by clicking on the 2% Fashion tab where you can download a template, create a design and then email this to ‘make mine Milk’ HQ.
The singer, whose first singles Happiness and Good Girl shot in to the UK top ten, is now helping the ‘make mine Milk’ campaign to spread the message that most milk is less than 2% fat. Alexis will pick her five favourite designs in each of the two age groups (13-15 and 16+) and then two winners will be selected by a public vote, hosted on www.facebook.com/makemineMilk .
As a big fan of low-fat milk, Alexis Jordan said: “I spend so much time on the go – dancing, travelling, singing, shopping; it never stops and I rarely get time to relax. That’s why low-fat milk is perfect for me as it’s not only healthy but really tasty too. I love a hot chocolate in the evenings and whenever I feel like I need an energy boost I grab a glass of cool milk to help keep me going.”
The 19-year-old has also joined the ‘make mine Milk’ celebrity leader board by taking part in the ‘make mine Milk’ challenge, a competition in which celebrities try to gulp down a pint of low-fat milk as quickly as they can. Alexis was very happy with her 14.6 seconds which meant that she beat teen idol, Justin Bieber.
Alexis Jordan is the latest in a series of high profile personalities to have backed the multi-million pound campaign. She is in good company, following in the footsteps of Gordon Ramsey and Pixie Lott, who successfully launched ‘make mine Milk’, in April 2010. They have since been joined by R&B maestro Usher, F1 driver Jenson Button, supermodel Elle Macpherson, the stars of The A Team movie, TV stalwart Tess Daly, the pop sensation, The Wanted, Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and international heartthrob and star of Green Lantern, Ryan Reynolds.
After a successful first year of the campaign, ‘make mine Milk’ is hoping that the 2% Fashion competition will help revive the nation’s love for milk further, reminding people that most milk varieties contain less than 2% fat, and as it is nutrient-dense, low fat milk is also extremely healthy.
