Fort Thomas 5K race and parade: The Firecracker 5000 race starts at the fort. Registration begins at 7 a.m., Race starts at 8:15 a.m. The Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Highlands High School on Memorial Parkway which runs into South Fort Thomas Avenue and goes south to the fort. 859-781-1814.

City of Edgewood July 4 events: 8 a.m., 34th annual city of Edgewood/Tri-state Running Company Independence Day 5K race begins at Presidents Park. Race includes divisions for runners and walkers and a children's fun run. Sand volleyball tournament also takes place at Presidents Park until 4 p.m. From 7-9:45 p.m. Red Idle presents a concert featuring classic rock. 9:45-10:15 p.m., Rozzi's Fireworks, Freedom Park. City of Fort Mitchell celebrates "A Star Spangled Salute to Our Soldiers": 12:30 p.m. parade begins at Diocesan Catholic Children's Home on Orphanage Road and ends at Beechwood School on Beechwood Road. Soldiers from Fort Mitchell's adopted unit, Bravo Co. 2-504 PIR, will take part in the parade. Spectators must stay on the sidewalk and the throwing or possession of water balloons and squirt guns is prohibited. 859-331-1212.

Peaselburg's Independence Day Parade will start at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Church in Covington. Children are encouraged to decorate bicycles, wagons, strollers, rollerblades, scooters, skateboards, cars, trucks or themselves and join the festivities. At the conclusion of the parade, everyone is invited to St. Augustine for a social gathering, refreshments and the announcement of children's prizes for best decorated bicycle, best costume as an important American, and best decorated dog. I'm 6'6" with the Givi windscreen and would like to reduce wind ...

&Quot;I am 6' tall and have a 34" inseam. The stock windshield was not terrible but I wanted a little better. I added 1" spacers and longer bolts between the windshield mounting bracket and the fairing. This moves the shield out farther and lets more air in between the shield and fairing. The result is 80% better for a cost of under $6. IMHO, it looks better then the Madstad bracket and is much cheaper. Of course there is no adjusability. But it is a large improvement over the stock mount!
