I have a silver one in 9mm. So far it has been a great gun with no issues with reliability or functionality,and its fairly accurate. I really liked the ergonomics of the gun too, it just feels good in your hand, good weight and balance, and size. I also liked the rotating barrel and i think it helps its accuracy. Its a Beretta design. let me know if you have any specific questions. A stoeger Cougar IS a Berretta Cougar. Berretta own Benneli. Benneli owns Stoeger.They took the machinery that made the Beretta cougar from Italy moved it to turkey gave it to Stoeger. Thats the short and sweet version. Basically when the Cougar 8000 came out it was a seven hunderd dollar gun. It was made to be a compact alternative to the FS 92. Them moved production from Italy to turkey under the Stoeger badge and were able to cut cost and drop the price a few hundred dollars. Stoger has never produced any weapons, but has been one of the biggest importers/exporters in europe for decades. they were started here in the US by a german hardware store owner that that started to import there famous little lugers from his homeland, and grew into what they are today, witch is an umbrella that pretty much owns 80% of the euro firearms market! accept for EAA, Ishamesh, and few other old ComBlock plants that are cranking out firearms, the rest build them for Stoger using Beretta, Bennelli, Rossi, Bakail, Huglo and other tooling and pattents acquired over the years. Beretta acquired then some years ago when they almost lost everything in the coach gun/side by side market, and built there current inventory of firearms to what it is today. its a shame that a lot of there shotguns are looked over for Mossburgs, they're far better built for the same price! personally i think the Cougar is one of PB's best pistol designs ever. there arn't to many handguns out there with a controlled round rotary feeding mechanisem! my wife had one of the original Beretta Cougars, and i always found it be accurate, and darn reliable no matter what you fed it, and the Stogers' are just as well built and fitted, just with a cheaper finish for half of the $780 price tag she paid for the Beretta years ago!
